The World Beneath Our Feet by drp
People can have all sorts of dreams that express their grief. I've read about symbolic dreams (of babies, for example, or shattering glass), dreams of past shared events, dreams of peril. The most common grief dream I have is what I call the Returned Loved One.
The RLO dream consists of the dearly departed, happy and healthy, returning to the dreamer's environment. In my dreams, they always seem casual about their resurrection and vague about how it came to be.
These visits are always after the fact of the death, so there is a lot of struggle for me in the dream to resolve how they're able to return.
Maybe I'm struggling with my desire for their return, playing with it.
